A Mt. Whitney Prayer

As if doing the longest and highest hike of my life last Saturday wasn't exhilarating and challenging enough, I am hiking up Mt. Whitney this weekend. Mt. Whitney is another 22 mile hike with over 14,000 feet of elevation. So much for "not wanting to participate in the adventure side" of my Elite24 membership.

As with Cactus 2 Clouds, this post is a prayer for my trip to Mt. Whitney.

Dear Creator, Watcher, Observer, Manifester of experience and reality,

I thank you for watching over each person on this mountain tomorrow and Sunday. Thank you keeping all of us healthy and safe as we hike to Trail Camp on Saturday and peak the summit on Sunday.

Thank you for giving me the courage to move forward since the moment I said yes to this experience.

With every step I take, keep my mind sharp and my body balanced. Give me the energy and clarity to move forward with ease and strength.

As I have never done this type of hike before, with crampons and ice axes, give me the confidence to use my body and mind in ways that will safely lead me to each destination on this hike.

Allow me to do things I have never done before, despite any feelings of nervousness or doubt.

And, as always, I thank you for the lessons I will learn on this hike.

Again, please watch over each person on this hike as we travel together and conquer both physical, mental, emotional, and most importantly, our spiritual battles.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Love,

Gabe
