Why I Post A Blog Everyday No Matter What People Say Or Think

It's been well over a month since I start blogging every day. I intend to continue this daily blogging ritual until at least July 31, 2018. There is no significance to that date other than it being the random day I chose to keep this up for. When that date is reached, I will consider the best way to post moving forward in terms of frequency, quality, and quantity.

First Things First, I Don't Do It For The Praise

I've had a number of people who I consider dear friends and family share with me that they do not read my blog, or have yet to read a post. Similarly, I've had someone who loves me dearly tell me that they need a break from all my posts due to the sheer amount that I share every day. Guess what? That's 100% cool and has nothing to do with me and what I'm up to.

On the other hand, I've also had the same people, and other people, share how awesome and inspiring my blog posts are and that should keep it up. It's these types of messages I choose to focus on and remember if I ever doubt my vision.

To those who value what I have to say, and are interested in applying my experiences to their journey, understand this: When you become a professional, or are looking to make a living off of creating content (blog, music, video, art, etc), your family and friends are no different than the random strangers in the marketplace who also judge, love, hate, and ultimately consume your content. Thus, let go of how people know you react to your content. Just like the billions of people in the world, your family and friends will love, hate, be annoyed, and be inspired when it comes to you, your message, and the way you share it.

Give yourself, and your friends and family, the gift of detachment. There's often a sense of obligation that comes with having to support our loved ones unconditionally. Although this is a beautiful notion, it can come at the sacrifice of true feedback and authenticity.

The reality is that when you step into the real world, your friends and family are no different than the rest of the people in the market place. They have opinions, they have varying tastes, they have their preferred authors, bloggers, and sources of information, and most importantly, they have the free choice to read whatever they want.

Just because you're someone they know and love does not automatically mean they'll love you as their source of content. It as NOTHING to do with you. Plus, you and I are here to serve way more people than just the X number of people that already knew us before we decided to go after our biggest dreams in life.

Back to the main topic of this post

I post a blog every day for a number of reasons. Here are five that come to mind immediately:

1) I said I would. That simple.

2) It's one of the main ways I have access to serving the world.

3) I am building an archive of content.

4) All it takes is one post to transform someone's life forever.

5) I am developing the muscles of integrity, discipline, and resourcefulness.

I write these blog posts for my own benefit as much as I do for the benefit of others. If someone wants to judge me, my process, and try and make me what they want me to be instead of understanding and honoring why I do what I do, that's on them not me.

I refuse to be swayed from my vision and the way I see it playing out. That's not to say I won't listen to feedback and consider the best way to make things work moving forward. I encourage you to do the same in terms of sticking to your deepest wisdom while still being open to what the world is mirroring back to you.

Overall, none of it means anything anyways. Not in a hopeless, depressing way, but in a "it's not that serious" kind of way.

Life is grand, I love what I do, and nobody can take that away from me!

With Tenacity & Grace,

GS
